Spring Runoff, Oil on Canvas, 18" x 24"
A thunderous deluge of water cascades down the Hog’s Back Falls (Ottawa) in this annual rite of spring. Energetic impasto brush strokes, along with some quiet palette knife work on the immovable rocks, were used for this painting.
Autumn Leaves, Acrylic on Canvas, 22" x 30"
While painting in the Gatineau Park I first glanced down at the ground and started to paint the autumn leaves at my feet. From there the abstraction continued ... as I finally turned my gaze to the falling and blowing leaves in the sky.

Sunshine in Purple Frame, Oil on Canvas, 23" x 35" (framed)
Much needed in the depth of winter! This painting is also a study of analogous colours with the palette spanning from orange to yellow-green, and the muted purple frame serving as the complementary.
